This is not a cut in paste. Some of these come from e-mails but some I made up whilst sitting at work when the internet was slow. Feel free to share ideas of more things to do at work when the internet is slow.
- Reorganize your desk in reverse alphabetical order/
- Go to everyone’s desk and ask them what they’re doing.
- Open Paint and draw juvenile pictures print them and paste them on the wall next to the pictures that your colleague’s kids drew.
- Circle some classified ads, something in the personals or anything else you find funny. Write: “I think you might find this useful” at the top. Leave it on your boss’s desk. Or if you feel gutsy make up personal ads for your boss and place it online once the internet is back up.
- Switch the papers in the inbox with those in the outbox.
- Drink 20 cups of sugary coffee in an hour and see what happens.
- Switch the ink in blue pens with those in black pens.
- Phone every extension and see who picks up
- Sing a long loudly with your mp3 player. The ruder the song the better.
- Go to the vending machine. Put in a fair amount of money. Close your eyes. Move you hand around a bit and just press a random button. Act like you won something.
- Test all the electronic access doors “Just to check if my tag is still good”
- Measure the floor space in your office. Foot by foot.
- Crawl under your desk and make “secret phone calls.”
- Ask a colleague if they have showered today.
- Announce loudly I think it’s a waste of company resources to spend on fads like the “internet” (indicating the quotations with your fingers). It’s never going to stick, really!'
- Tape a kick me sign to someone’s back if somebody kicks them say: “funny in 3rd grade and funny now.”
- Hold office chair races.
- Go write “wash me” on car windows.
- Practice your impersonations, then call a colleague pretending to be someone else.
- Slide down the banister on the staircase. Remember to shout “Wheeeeeeeeeee!”
